Week three, just testing different capacitance sensing circuits. this one I'm calling the touch box. its sensitive to only about 3 inches. its varies nicely from 3 inches to first contact. its noisy at the first contact, but then if you press your finger firmly against the copper mesh surface there is another nice range of variation in capacitance.
